How do I make a video with AI?

Short answer

Describe the video in a prompt, or give the AI pictures to animate, and it generates a short clip. In Melon Cut Design you can make a video from text, from your pictures - the first opens it, the last closes it - from reference pictures, or by changing a video you already have. Pick a model, or let Auto pick one and explain why.

The ways to make an AI video, and which to choose.

Four ways to start

Text is the quickest way to start; pictures give you the most control over how the video looks.

  • Text to video: describe the scene, the action and the camera
  • From pictures: the first opens, the last closes, and up to 8 keyframes sit in between
  • New video from references: pictures that show the look, the product or the person
  • Change the video: an MP4 or MOV of up to 100 MB and 60 seconds, changed by a prompt

Length, shape and model

Each model makes its own lengths and shapes: up to 30 seconds on the longest-running ones, in shapes such as 16:9, 9:16, 1:1, 21:9, 4:3 and 3:4, or the same shape as your attachment. Auto picks a model for your prompt and tells you why.

What it costs

A video uses 60 credits for every started 5 seconds, and a branded video 150. The studio shows what a run costs before it starts.
