Brand guidelines maker, step by step
Start a brand
Give it a name, a description and a handle - the editor checks the handle is free - or open the sample brand first to see how a finished one is put together.
Add and arrange
Upload logos, colours, fonts and documents in the Assets tab, write your foundation, then drag blocks into place on the page in Edit mode.
Save & publish
Switch to View mode to read the page as others will, then press Save & publish. The changes are live the moment you do.
What you build, tab by tab
The editor is split the way a brand is. Each tab holds one part of it, and the published page brings the parts together in your own colours and fonts.
- Brand: name, description, visibility, handles, other names, markets, tags, parent brand and successor
- Assets: libraries of colours, fonts, images, videos, documents, text and links
- Foundation: 16 kinds of value, from mission and vision to voice and tone, in rich text
- Systems: complete looks of colours, fonts and logos that belong together
- Usage: sections of blocks that show each asset with notes on how to use it
Edit on the page, not in a form
In Edit mode you work on the guidelines as they will appear: drag blocks to reorder them, and undo or redo any step. View mode shows the page exactly as a reader will see it.
Drafts are kept on your device while you work, so an unfinished change waits for you there. Nothing goes live until you press Save & publish.
Checks while you work
Live rule checks flag problems as you make them - a section without a title, a block that points at an asset you have since removed, two markets with the same name. You fix them before the page goes out, not after someone asks.
Free to start, paid to go public
The Free plan gives you private draft guidelines for up to 10 brands, and they work with Melon Cut Design. Each brand has its own plan, so you upgrade only the brands that need more.
A paid plan makes a brand's guidelines public and gives it a custom username and address. Prices are on the pricing page.

No. Everything happens in the editor: upload your files, pick your colours, write the rules and arrange the page. You can try it on the sample brand first.

People also ask
- Brand guidelines How do I create brand guidelines? To create brand guidelines, gather your final logo files, colours and fonts; record exact colour codes; write short rules for how each is used; define your mission, values and voice; then publish everything in one place people can reach. Start with what people ask for most - logos and colours - and add detail over time.
- Brand guidelines What should brand guidelines include? Brand guidelines should include your logos and how to use them, your colour palette with exact codes, your fonts and type styles, the look of your imagery, and your voice and tone. Strong guidelines also hold the brand's foundation - mission, vision, values and audience - plus downloadable files, so people can act on the rules, not just read them.
