Getting started

What is the difference between Melon Cut Design and Melon Cut Guidelines?

Short answer

Melon Cut Design makes things: it is an AI studio for images, social posts, stories, videos, vectors and brand identities, paid for with monthly credits. Melon Cut Guidelines keeps things: it stores a brand's logos, colours, fonts and rules and publishes them at meloncut.com/yourbrand, priced per brand with a Free plan. Together, Design uses your guidelines to stay on-brand.

Two products: one for making content, one for keeping the brand.

Melon Cut Design

Design is the AI studio. You write a prompt and it makes or edits pictures, makes videos and SVG vectors, plans batches of posts and stories, and can create a whole brand identity in a Brand chat.

It needs a paid plan. Plans differ only in their monthly credits: an image uses 10 credits, a video 60 for every started 5 seconds.

Melon Cut Guidelines

Guidelines is the brand's home: logos, colours with HEX, RGB and CMYK values, fonts, asset libraries, usage rules and the brand foundation, edited on the web or in the apps for Android, iOS, Mac and Windows. Published, it is a page that anyone you share it with can open and download from.

There is no AI inside the Guidelines editor. Creating a brand with AI happens in Melon Cut Design's Brand chat.

Using them together

Type a brand's @username in Design and its published guidelines guide the result: its colours, fonts and most relevant assets, with the real logo file placed on finished pictures. A brand made in a Brand chat can be published to Guidelines as a new brand or as an update to an existing one.
