Plain words instead of editing software.
Writing an edit prompt
Small, specific requests give the most predictable edits.
- Ask for one change at a time
- Say where: "the sign on the left", "the background"
- Say what stays the same: "keep the person exactly as they are"
- Describe the result, not the steps: "a warm sunset sky"
When a dedicated tool is better
For common jobs the dedicated tools are more precise: Remove background, Replace background, Product packshot, Upscale and Enhance details. Use Prompt edit for everything else.
Going back and branching
Work on this one carries on from a particular result, and Try another direction branches a copy of the chat, so you can explore an idea without losing the version you had. Compare results side by side to choose.
